[SOLVED] Is it safe or recommend to use old RAM with new RAM?

I have two 4GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 2800MHz RAM, and I just bought two 8GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400MHz RAM. Can I use both sets to create 24GB or should I just stick with the 16?

It is not. You can try and see how stable it is, but RAM is generally very finicky. It will also all run at 2400, versus a mix of 2400 and 2800

I think my motherboard only runs at 2400 so the 8gb ram was already throttled down to 2400.

In terms of it working? If you don't have blue screens in windows or crashes it counts as working
