Is it safe to have psu cables as tight as they can go?

I recently bought a new full tower case and a new power supply. Everything installed just fine but the psu cord for the top cpu power connecter ~just~ barely fits. I had to almost stretch (not really but the cord is as absolutely tight as it can go) the cord to get it to go in. After a few minutes of fiddling with it i did get it to fit in place. What im worried about is that because there is so much strain and because it is coming out of the back that the cord will somehow sever or damage itself. Is this a common thing or am i just being paranoid. Am i fine? or should i be worried and order an extension cable asap.

I am not sure exactly how tight it is because I can't see a picture or anything but from the way you are describing it you should probably get a extension cable and unplug the cable now so it doesn't get damaged.

This is a good cable. From the picture it looked like 4pin but I was not sure so I will link both 4pin and 8pin. Look at the cable and see whichever you need.

Ya. PSU cables don't have specific compatibility between intel and amd systems you just need to make sure that the cable is right for example if you have 4+4pin cpu connector get an 8 pin extension or 4+4 pin extension which is the same.
