I am wondering if i can overclock my lg 29uc97c ultrawide because i recently got this monitor along with a new pc that isnt a potato like my previous laptop so i can run overwatch at 120 fps on max but for the reason that my monitor is 60hz i cant actually run it at that fps but would it be safe to increase it to just 75hz so only 15 hz more to benefit from it a bit more, i dont want to do it if it risks my monitor or limits its lifespan, thanks.

I can't see that it would harm the monitor, if it locks onto the signal at all. It's more likely to simply say "Input out of range" or something and not display anything. (That said, I had an LCD years ago that used to say "Out of range" but still show the image perfectly well anyway behind the OSD popup...)

CRT monitors were another matter - they would often lock onto signals beyond their official specs but could burn out the high-power components used to steer the electron beam.
