Is it safe to play a game while defragging?

I'm currently defragging my 4TB WD Black Edition using Defraggler.It was 10% fragmented and it says the remaining time is 1 day. (HOLY SH!TB@LLZ!!!)

So I was wondering, will it hurt anything if I played a game during the defrag process? And if so, what if I paused the defrag, played a game, then resume it after closing the game?

You might not be able to pause it, but if your game is on a different drive, then yes, you could probably do it.

Yes, you can pause it.
But this is what the schedule that Windows wants to do is for.

A teeny bit of automatic defrag once a week prevents a manual defrag that takes 24+ hours.
