Hello all,

I own a Thermaltake Tower 900:

The front top case fan is blowing hot air up and out of my PC case. I am running a RTX 3090 at the moment.

The thing is that I just realized that I can put plates of food on top of the front case fan which is blowing hot air out of the case to heat up the food instead of heating it up in my microwave.

My concern is, is this food going to be safe to eat from? Is the hot air blowing up the case-fan contaminated air? Will I get cancer or another disease from eating food from this method in the short/long term?

Solution
By placing that food plate over the fan exhaust port, you are significantly reducing the air flow allowed to come out. This will have the benefit of greatly increasing the temperature of the hot air and of your food. Of course, that means the components inside your case that rely on this fan to cool them are being baked hotter, which may shorten their life. Your choice., and do NOT spill!

I don't know what your cost of electricity is but the risk of something falling down inside and burning a motherboard would be far too much for me. I highly doubt there is any more of a health risk eating the food than breathing the exhaust air. However nothing in a consumer pc has the ability to handle liquid exposure, especially something like food liquids that will be laden with conductive / corrosive materials.

"safe" medically? The most hazard might be a few dust particles.
The PC isn't going to affect the food any.

"safe" as in a good idea? Probably not.
You've increased the possibility of dropping food into the PC a million-fold, vs not doing this.
And the air coming out isn't that hot.
