I have only 4 fan connections on my motherboard and i want to run 8 fans and i am wondering is it safe to run 3 fans of BitFenix Alchemy 3pin x3 Fan adaptor

Im alreadly out of connections because of 2x cpu cooler fans, 1x top and 1x front.

So i am thinking of getting 2 of them adaptors and changing things around a bit.

Is this a good idea? or any help would be great....

MAYBE.

You can find the AMP ratings for the fan controller on the motherboard and the fans.

Let's say your fan controller can supply 1Amp and the fans use a maximum of 0.25Amps. That would mean you could run up to FOUR fans.

The fan controller details are in the motherboard manual, and the fans are either from the fan manufacturer or the case manufacturer depending on how you obtained the fans.

Cheers.

fan controller it is. Thanks lads:)

I meant the fan controllers on the MOTHERBOARD, provided they could supply enough AMPs to the fans. No need for a separate controller.

I have two front case fans running from one controller via a fan splitter, and the same for the top/rear.

For speed control via the motherboard your FANS must:
a) be VARIABLE
b) Be PWM/Voltage as supported (fan controllers support either PWM, or Voltage, or BOTH)
