Hey guys, i have an vapor-x r9 280x running on my cougar SL-500W , it is running fine and im playing with it whole day good performance , the recommended psu is 750W , i calculated on http://coolermaster.outervision.com/PSUEngine2 , it showed that i need a minimum of 518W , so is it safe to run my system on this PSU?

My pc Build:
Amd FX 8320 3.50 Ghz
8gb kingston hyper fury-x ram
500Gb hdd
Vapor-x r9 280x dual-x

Solution
The Cougar PSU, made by HEC, is low quality and not the best unit for a gaming system. Having an AMD CPU and GPU makes it even worse as they have big appetites for power. A high quality 600-650 watt PSU from a major manufacturer would be recommended for a demanding AMD based system.
