Question Is it safe to use 3200 Mhz ram on Ryzen 5 2400G?

Nov 29, 2021
Hello! i've recently gone into pc stuff and im quite not sure what to do here. From a few researching on the internet i found that using a 3200mhz ram on my ryzen 5 2400g cpu and gpu may cause problems because the maximum supported JEDEC memory standard for the R5 2400G is 2933 mhz. Any suggestions what i should do? i also heard that people suggest me to allocate 2gb of your system memory to the gpu and also set your ram speed to 3200mhz
The maximum supported memory is determined by platform architecture (read memory controller). On a compatible chipset you can run it @3200mhz. For eg:
  • 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ Processors, 1st and 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ with Radeon™ Vega Graphics Processors support DDR4 1866/ 2133/ 2400/ 2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200 Mhz by JEDEC, and 2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466+ Mhz by A-XMP OC MODE
Allocating UMA to dedicated size may improve graphics performance...
