Is it safe to use an Xbox One as a monitor stand?

An unusual question, but I don't have the largest desk and the only way to fit the xbox onto it as well as my pc is to put it under the monitor. Currently it is sat on a box next to my desk which isn't so convenient. Wondering if this is safe to do so or if anyone has tried this, I don't want to damage the xbox. The monitor weighs 5kg, not sure how useful that is.

Considering half of the top of the unit is the exhaust fan, I wouldn't. You'd be looking at massive overheating.

I have used a ps3 as a monitor stand too and it worked perfectly, no damage at all.
My monitor weighs 6kg.
I think you can do this just fine.

PS3 exhausts out the back, Xbox one exhausts out the side, two different things. You didn't cover the exhaust vents on your PS3. The monitor would on the Xbox One.
