[SOLVED] Is It The Hardware, The Software, Or Me?

Running X-Plane 11 thru
Windows 10 on:

i3-8100 3.6 GHz
16GB of DDR4
GTX1060 w/ 6GB of VRAM

I'm getting 30-50 fps with Low CPU side settings and nearly max'd out GPU side effects, and yet I still get stuttetering, lines waving across the screen, and some sound anamoly, like an occassional popping noise.

I've tried committing the control of the graphics to both the GPU and X-Plane to no avail.

Is this simply the limit of my hardware?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Solution
The CPU and GPU work together, the cpu tells the GPU what to do, and the GPU does it. If the cpu is also modeling the flight characteristics of a C172, and only has 4 cores to do that, then it will struggle. The graphics card will demand more and more, which will leave gaps in the frames, tearing, etc. I’d suggest a ryzen system (if you have an extra $100 to replace your mobo), perhaps a ryzen 5 2600.
I doubt it. As a flight sim enthusiast myself, those specs sound fine (the processor lacks a little- especially since xp11 is very physics based and cpu intensive). Has this problem always occurred? Does this occur in other programs, or is it xp11 specific? Try to turn down the GPU settings and turn up the cpu settings and see what happens. What are your temps?

Yes, this is a new build. I don't have any other game or graphics intensive programs.

It gets worse if i turn up the CPU settings. The fps drop to the 20s. I had assumed that 30-50 fps would be enough to run smoothly. Is a constant 50 fps more realistic in expecting it to be seamless?

It's an HP 21" LED 1920x1080 60Hz
I bought my copy of Windows from MicroCenter. All drivers are up-to-date.

I followed that instructional video and was able to get it dialed in pretty good.

Reflections: Max
Objects: Medium

Visual Effects both Max'd
Antialiasing: Medium
Shadows on scenery
No AI or parked aircraft

I'm avg 40 fps

The popping noise is gone as well.

My CPU will be the first to be upgraded. Will this allow for higher antialiasing or is that a GPU function?

Thanks for the help yall!
