is it this easy?

I want to know how to go about overclocking my 1.33 Ghz T-bird. I have an Epox E87AM mobo, the Alpha 6035 heatsink, 2 case fans, and an enermax 350w p/s w/2 fans. I am a newbie to overclocking. Can I just go into the bios settings and change the values for the clock multiplier and the FSB? Will this overclock my system properly?
I want to get up to about 1550MHz. Will I need to adjust the voltage too? Can I do it through the bios?

<font color=blue>Uh. Yeah, it is that easy. Of course 1.55 is pretty ambitious. I assume you are not going to try that with a stock heat sink.

Oc has less to do with the mobo (people don't rape me on this - I don't mean nothing - just less) than it does the proc. If you want to get a good idea of what you can expect, check your proc vs. what's been done. Go to typical oc sites like <A HREF="http://www.overclockersonline.com" target="_new"><font color=red>overclockersonline</A><font color=blue> or <A HREF="http://www.hardocp.com" target="_new"><font color=red>hardocp</A><font color=blue>. You will need to know your stepping. Look at the serial# on the actual die to find the first 4-5 letters (i.e. AXIA) and the 1st letter of the next line and that is your stepping. Then you can know what to expect with whats been done with that particular proc. A "1.33" Tbird isn't specific enough.

there is a good chance your cpu is AXIA or better. in that case you should easily get to 1.5G probably without a voltage increase and should get to 1.55 with good cooling and a small voltage rise.

Lots will depend on your memory and components and the Epox board having the required adjustments.
