For a few months now (16 exactly) haha so its been a year.

Wireless connection on phones/laptops would constantly drop.

Wired connection on my desktop would sometimes get slow. Like extremely slow but not drop.

Tried wired on laptops same problem. (Connection drops)

I'm sure its not my laptop/desktop/phone problem.

Because my phone works fine at friends house/ various networks

Drop of connection happens to any laptop and phone even my friends that connect to my WiFi.

I've been using a tplink router for like 5 years now. Man time flies so fast guys.

If it is time to change then what router should I get?

Looking at the Asus rt n12 d1 kinda price range. Thanks !!

The ASUS RT‑N12 D1 is a 2.4GHz only device, but is still a fine router.

For around the same price, the TP-LINK TL-WDR3500 adds 5.0GHz.
blow the dust out of the router...try the newest firmware to see if it a bug. if not and unit still having issue then spend a little more and pick up a 2.4/5g unit. and a 5g stick. the 5g band is faster but has shorter range..with the 2.4/5g units you can run new and old hardware. just make sure the router has the older wep passwords. some of the newer units dont have wep just wpa.
