Is it time for a CPU upgrade? (1080ti)

Pc is 6600k 4.5ghz
1080ti
750w Corsair rmi
1x16gb 3000mhz

Give it too me straight is it time for a cpu upgrade? Should I get Ryzen?

the ONLY upgrade on that I would REALLY recommend is new ram.. 1 stick of ram is darn bad on some games.. it can cut the FPS in half in a lot of games.. you should have 16 GB of ram yes but with 2 sticks not 1.. so you have dual channel ram.. it makes a big difference with games as I said (NOT all games but some good ones). IF you wanted to upgrade to a new CPU for instance the Ryzen 7 2600X is darn close to what you have now (non overclocked its a little faster.. but not much... the 2700X is a bit faster but the costs for a 10% improvement are not worth the cost in my mind. BUT going to dual channel DDR4 I would highly recommend it as in some games your fps can double overall.. if you have ddr3 ram then only if you can get some cheap...
