My computer won't respond to my current monitor (ASUS VS Series VS247H-P). There still is power on my keyboard and mouse, and I still hear/see the fan. The monitor works and the cable isn't bad since I tested them with my laptop. I checked both my GPU and motherboard slots, so I have a strong feeling there's a problem with my motherboard, maybe it overheated with my notice. I appreciate any information!

Solution
I would check the OS first and other components, motherboards can fail but are well down the list of common component failures. Download a Knoppix Live Linux disk and try booting from that to check your OS/HDD.
It seems like it was an OS issue after, somehow the SATA cable came lose for my main HDD and it wouldn't show the screen. I made sure my case as clean and readjusted the cable so there wouldn't be an issue with it again. Thanks for the help! I do have another question though, this scared quite a bit since it was out of the blue, what signs signify what issues there may be with my system?

Sooner or later everyone has computer hardware or OS issues, so be sure to backup important data. Also, use an antivirus and periodically check for malware with the free version of antimalwarebytes.

Many times issues will come without warning, so have your OS install disk and some utilities to check components handy -- like memtest86 from HERE and Hiren's Boot disk, which will boot your system from a CD the and has tons of diagnostic programs to figure out the problem.
