Is it time for the upgrade? 2x970 SLI

I'm currently running 2 Geforce GTX 680's with SLI enabled, which is connected to a single 28 inch 4k display.

Question is, the graphics processing gain that the 970's will have over the 680's probably won't be that significant if I'm right.

But my video cards currently only have 2GB's of VRAM.
Is it going to be worth it to just get the cards for the extra 2GB's of VRAM considering I'm playing games on a resolution of 3840x2160?

2 x 680's = ~ 1.1 x 970. I've got 2 x 670s and am thinking the same.

or 2 x 970's = ~ 3.2 x 680's (or in my case 4 x 670's)

970's scale a lot better than 680's in SLI.

not really, playing AC black flag on almost the highest settings.

Volumetric fog was turned off and I think shadows were at High instead of very high.
That's pretty much it though.
Gets anywhere from minimum of 35 fps, stable around 60.

Although I'm a little scared to see how FarCry 4 performs on these cards.

That sounds pretty good but ya you might have to upgrade in order to play FC4 with nice FPS cuz it's a bit badly optimized
