Is it time for me to upgrade?

I had 19'' View Sonic 1280x1024 and it was fine - Upgraded my monitor to Samsung HD240T - and I'm experiencing a lag. I'm connected via DVI.

May be my video card Nvidia 7800 GS AGP can't handle 1920x1280?

my cpu AMD 64 x1 +4200
and 2gb of RAM

Thank you.

Alex

more pixels = more work for the gfx card .

Probably nothing wrong with the monitor , you need a more powerful gfx card .

Download and install FRAPS . free , tells you the fps you are getting . Compare both monitors

+1 for Outlander

Your 7800 was probably fine with 1280x1024 but will struggle at higher res if you still have your games set on the same settings, especially since your connection is AGP and not PCI-E.

Either turn them down or up your graphics card (GTS 250 will do the trick if you're after good bang for buck performance).

But then again, if your mobo has an AGP slot then it could be quite old, make sure your mobo has a PCI-E x16 slot before upgrading anything.
