Is it true that a newly applied thermal paste is not that effective?

I bought a Deepcool Gamma Archer Heat Sink Fan with newly applied thermal paste that comes along with it.

I have an i5 4570 processor which is 45-55 C when browsing and 65-75 in gaming ( Battlefield 1 ).

Is it true that I have to wait for the Thermal Paste to be 'cooked' before my Idle temps goes down?

The past needs to cure a bit but their not going to be much difference a couple C at the most.

Thermal paste needs to have a few power up/down cycles to get it its maximum efficiency and fill in all the tiny surface impurities of the heatsink and cpu heat spreader.

Your CPU cooler isn't good is why.

It's basically just a stock cooler replacement incase a stock cooler dies.

If you want better temps you need a good CPU cooler.

That said, 75C while gaming isn't bad.
