Question Is it unwise to upgrade from e6700 2.6ghz to q6600-8400?

I have an old pc just for everyday usage. It's running well with e6700 core2duo, 8gb ddr2, asus p5b. With stock cooler, 63 degree celcius is the max after 20 minutes of aida64 test. I think about swapping this with a quad, 6600 or 8400 but quads have 95 watt tdp which is 30w higher than core2duo's 65w. Would it be a problem with stock cooler?

If your stock cooler has the copper core I think it would be alright. Buy some thermal paste so you can remove it to find out. You will need new thermal paste when you swap the CPU anyways.
