Is it worth a SATA3 SSD with a SATA2 motherboard?

I have been looking at the Samsung 850 EVO 500GB for some time but I'm not sure whether it is worth it if I have a SATA2 motherboard. My HDD results from CrystalDiskMark4 say the write speed is 110.2MB/s and the read speed is 113.6MB/s. Is it worth getting it or should I get a new motherboard that has SATA3?

Yes, IMO it is still worthwhile because the random I/O is great, and the write speeds depend on what type of write -- random or sequential. You only get capped at the very top end by SATA II, and mostly in larger sequential operations. I would get the 850EVO and use it, then move it to your next build whenever that happens.
