is it worth buying a more expensive monitor instead of a cheaper one?

Hi, I've decided to upgrade monitor and I've found a Asus VE247H it was my budget price but I kept looking online for more and I found a Asus MX239H or £50 more, is it worth spending the extra money?

The more expensive one has an IPS panel, which will generally produce more vibrant and accurate colors as well as better viewing angles. If that's important to you, buy it, if not, you can save 50$. I have a dell u2713hm IPS monitor and compared to a TN monitor, the difference is huge. It makes the TN monitor look grey and washed out without being overly saturated.

the mx239h might seem good but I would stick my self to the ve247h since its cheaper and even bigger in size, beside its already a good monitor, mine is almost the same specs and I am still impressed by it, so my opinion...no it is not worth.

Absolutely it is worth it. What part of the computer do you look at? The monitor. It doesn't matter how good the rest of your computer is, if you get a tiny, cheap monitor with backlight bleed you won't have a good experience.

Yeah that's what I thought cause even though like you guys said it has a better IPS panel and stuff the ve247h has 2ms response time as the mx239h has 5ms and as I wanna use it for gaming the ve247h might be the one I go for... any other ideas?

I can't tell a difference between 5ms response and 6.5ms response. Personally, I don't think there is any discernible difference between response times today, but someone else may be able to notice them.

Your eyes can only see at 100hz which is equivalent to 10ms. Simply put, you wont be able to tell the difference between any refresh rate under 10 ms. So I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, 2ms is 500 FPS and as far as I know, there is not a game in existence that will run at that speed. Go for the IPS panel. You won't regret it.

I know I already said that I would buy this but I looked online (reviews/youtube) and this monitor has alot of major ghosting issues I really dont know wether to get this as I'm mostly gonna use it for gaming?

I wouldn't worry about it. It has a high refresh rate and anti-ghosting built in so even if it did have issues, you wouldn't notice much.
