[SOLVED] Is it worth buying i5 11500 over i5 10500?

I am currently in need of buying new PC.

I need mid-gaming professional PC for software development without GPU.

My options are below.

Rig I :
CPU : 10th Gen i5 10500 Comet Lake
Mobo : ASUS TUF B460 M-PLUS
RAM : 8GBx2 dual Kit 2666Mhz
Case : Corsair SPEC-01

Rig II :
CPU : 11th Gen i5 11500 Rocket Lake
Mobo : ASUS TUF B560 M-PLUS
RAM : 8GBx2 dual Kit 3200Mhz
Case : Corsair SPEC-01

Which option should I go with?

The 11500 hands down. Native support of 3200Mhz RAM, PCIe 4, B560 boards not only support higher clocked RAM but they allow for memory OC, etc, etc ... Just make sure to pair the 11500 up with an aftermarket cpu cooler.

And if you plan on running that cpu with the power limits turned off in the bios in order to gain more FPS then I suggest this cpu cooler.

Depends on prices.

Performance of both cpus is very similar.
Main difference is, 11gen cpus have additional 4 pcie lanes for cpu connected nvme drive.

Yep. Especially if you plan on gaming. The 11 gen cpu's can get up to some serious wattage in turbo boost mode. That's why a lot of gamers that are purchasing the locked 11 gen cpu's are spending $50 - $60 on a cpu cooler so that they can turn off the power limits in the bios and stay in turbo boost mode for a lot longer. It's a round-a-bout way of OC the locked cpu's.

But I am not overclocking or using the pc for game.

and When I do, I'd keep that in mind to change cooler.

Would you recommend any compatible Liquid cooler?

Someone else on here would be better qualified than myself for recommending a liquid cooler. I've never used one tbh ... I stick with air coolers. No liquid in my case and no having to listen to a pump running.
