Is it worth buying the PG279Q now?

Hello.
I am planning on buying a 1440p@144hz monitor, and i got my eyes on the Asus PG279Q. The thing is, i am not sure if this screen is outdated as it was released a year ago. I cant live with the feeling that they are going to release a new model soon.

So, what do you think, is it possible they are going to release a new 1440p@144hz monitor soon, or should i just go for the PG279Q?

I got that monitor back in August, the Asus staff told me they will discontinue the TN version only PG278Q and remain with the PG279Q since it is selling very well and there is nothing else they can improve to it.

What they will focus on after this screen is 4K. they are coming out with a 4K 120Hz display in the future.

so unless 4K is something you want, there is nothing to worry about.
