[SOLVED] Is it worth buying the Samsung 860 EVO mSATA SSD ?

My laptop has an empty mSATA slot which operates at SATA2 speeds, I want to install an OS on it....

Should i get the expensive 860 EVO ? or the cheap Kingston 120GB UV500 ?

Will they perform identically in a SATA2 slot ? Is the 860 EVO overkill ?

Samsung's Seq read/write speeds: 550/520

Kingston's Seq read/write speeds: 520/320

in random read and writes the Samsung crushes the Kingston....does that matter too for a SATA2 slot ?

Will the Seq read/writes be affected by the slot being SATA2 ? and how ? Will the kingston have the 320MB/s write speed when plugged into a SATA2 slot ?

Will the random read/writes also be affected by the slot being SATA2 ?

mSATA =/= SATA, its a different physical connector.

On a SATA2 port SSDs will have a max of 250-270MB/s read and write.

If sequential are affected so are random iops by droping to SATA 2

Samsung is overkill, it is really up to you i prefer samsung as i know their reliability record.
