Hello l, I have a ryzen 2600, 32gb ddr4 ram and a aurous 1060 6gb, 750w power supply, I've been looking for an upgrade for my graphics card for some time and I've been offered two titan xs (maxwell) 12gb cards the guy wants 500 quid for them and just wondering if it's worth it or not ? Wanna start getting into 4k gaming, thanks for any help

Solution
a single titan x is about 30% faster then the 1060 6GB. Newer games are dropping SLI support or if it does have it its not very optimized. You would also need to upgrade the PSU to run both those cards, GeForce rates 2 titans to have a minimum of 900w PSU

For 500quid you can pick up a 2060 super, 5700xt or a 2070super.

Worth is something only YOU can determine.

Correction.... as later pointed out, since the offer is a maxwell titan x, that is not a good enough bump in performance.

Trying to run them both in sli would be a mistake.
pass on the offer.

A titan X is somewhat equivalent in performance to a GTX`1080ti or a RTX2080.
Ah, but @Shaunny1 mentioned that they are Maxwell titans. They fall a little shy of GTX 1080 performance. More like GTX 1070/1070Ti range.

I fully concur with this.

SLI scales poorly, when it works at all, and assuming it doesn't actually wind up hurting performance.

For 500quid you can pick up a 2060 super, 5700xt or a 2070super.

All three of those perform notably better than a Maxwell Titan.
