i currently have an fx 6300 clocked at 4.6 ghz in my system with a gtx 970. i recently bought the asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0 motherboard to overclock the cpu to reduce the bottleneck!
i have just discovered that the price difference between an i5 4690k and a decent z97 board and my setup is around 50-60 pounds roughly 80-90 dollars i think (i am bad with currency) would it be worth going fo the i5 and selling my board and processor, they are both in pretty good condition and the only problem with the board is the fact that i do not know what type of screw the stock heatsink bracket on AM3+ boards use so if anyone could help me out regarding that it would be a huge help :)!
anyway, have a nice day guys and please do not turn this thread into a complete intel vs amd flamewar XD!

YES!

however you should buy the i5 6600k for the sake of a few quid more.

this will give you 5-10% over haswell. (4690k) plus more features e.g. PCIE and DDR4 ram which has come down in price.

good suggestion but the motherboard and the cpu are a little bit pricey for my taste, and since i can overclock the 4690k i can gain some more performance that way, but if i do go for the skylake chips how much more performance do you think i would get in games and maybe a little bit of light rendering?
also what screws does the stock am3+ heatsink bracket use to secure it, if you do not know its fine but i just need one to replace the one that is missing :)
