I'm running (2) 1TB HDDs in raid0. For now I can live with the load times. Its actually pretty quick but not as quick as SSD of course.

I still want to improve load times a little bit but I dont want to replace the HDDs yet.

Is it worth it to get an SSD or mirco SSD for the OS and/or paging files.

Im also Running ready boost. My system is noticeably slower without the flash drive plugged in for ready boost.

specs:
core i5 overclocked 4.5ghz
8bg 1600mhz ram
gtx770 overclocked
(2) 1TB HDDs (i think 64mb cache or something like that)
corsair H80i

Solution
A SSD will be 3x the sequential speed of your raid-0 setup.
It will be 50x the random speed which is what the os does mostly.

Once you use a SSD you will never go back.
I suggest a 250gb from intel or Samsung. Sales abound now.

Do not disable paging. It is there for a reason.
I doubt with 8gb that you have a shortage of ram.

Some time back, I experimented with readyboost.
Good candidates were small files that a flash drive could load more quickly than a hard drive.
These would be small files that benefitted from the low latency of the flash but not be penalized by the slow transfer speed.

A SSD is faster in both so readyboost is not needed.

The case for more ram is that windows will keep code in ram available for instant reuse...

It can't hurt, but I would not make more ram a priority.
