Hey guys,

Back in 2013 I built a beginner video editing computer. It has served me well until a couple years ago when it became noisy and could barely run Adobe Premiere. My wife wants me to buy a brand new desktop and ditch this one.

Below is the build:

Do you think there is any saving this computer? Would upgrading it cost me more than buying a brand new desktop?

If I keep it, what do you suggest I replace some of the parts with?

Budget: $700.
Use: Video editing

Thank you,
Nick

Solution
Not a lot you can keep from that.
The 120GB 840 EVO can serve as the cache drive and plug in space for your Adobe applications.
That's about it.

Everything else would be replaced.

Thanks guys!

Now I'll have to tell my wife that she was right...
Over budget but would be a good upgrade.
You can use the old SSD for a scratch drive the the old HDD for backup.
Reusing the old case and using the stock intel cooler would save a few bucks.
You would also need to get windows 10.
