Is it worth it to upgrade my core i5 4440 to an Intel i3 8100 quad core or so for gaming?? My 4440 is paired with a gtx 1060 6gb

Well if you were to upgrade to a newer CPU that would require a new motherboard and DDR4 memory.

As-is the 4440/1060 is a good pairing if your playing at 1080P but if your system is struggling getting higher FPS then you'll want a better CPU. Something like the Ryzen 2600 would be a solid upgrade for the price or if you prefer Intel then the i5-8400.
