Is it worth it to upgrade to 280x when I'm coming from 270x?

Hello! Title says it all, i have a Corsair VS550 PSU, i think that's all that matters. Is the performance upgrade noticable or not at all? thank you!

I dont own a 270x but have 280x.
So i can assure you that this card works good. a little noisy due to fan speeds when you play @ ultra for few hours (games like batman arkham origins, crysis 3 etc), but not at all noticeable when you have headphones/sound ON.

550W is enough to power it.

while the performance upgrade is noticeable, I would wait another gen or two. I have a 7870 (so basically an R9 270x) and it plays everything pretty well. Ill probably upgrade in 2 years or so.

also, depending on your processor and number of drives, you can robably power the 280x, it'll just push your psu a bit.

yes it does, the performance gap is big enough for you to notice on 1080p gaming especially on modern games and upcoming titles. 270x is only good for this year games I think (for 60fps on 1080p high setting, even some games can't even get to 60fps). This coming from 270X owner. But I suggest wait for Maxwell line up since what we know from 750Ti alone is Maxwell line up gonna be awesome. lower power consumption but more performance. you can just stick with your 270X, it will still provide 30fps on 1080p with decent setting next year I guess. I , too, have a very big urge to update my 270X since I have the money, but I'll reconsider untill Maxwell really come up.
