i currently have a Q6600 , and i was just wondering if its worth to overclock my cpu. Imo i think its a shame to run something at a slower speed when others run the q6600 stable at such high speeds. my only worry is that i dont know much about overclocking so i rather have it running @ 2.4 instead of 3.0. and just wondering how much of a difference would i notice from 2.4 > 3.0?

im running Orthos Beta Test for about 10mins now and Coretemp reads are.

Core 0 = 42c
Core 1 = 40c
Core 2 = 42c
Core 3 = 36c

i have AS5 Thermal Paste , Zalman 9700 , 4 120mm case fans on a Antec p182.

In your other thread you asked the same question. We answered it and tried to help you.

On the 7th post of that thread almost a week ago Silverion77 suggested you run Memtest at stock settings. You still (almost a week later) have not done this.

If you have an RMA window I would highly suggest you test the stability of the computer at "stock" settings.

Overclocking isn't hard, but you need to take a step back and relax. Patience is the name of the game. If you have read the guide you know everything you need to know about OCing.

You still aren't helping yourself.. So.

Run Memtest at stock settings to test the RAM (800 MHz, 2.2v, 4-4-4-12), then run Prime95 Small FFT for 12 hours and Blend for 12 hours. If it passes all of those tests you are good to start overclocking. If it fails one of those you need to figure out why and RMA the defective part.

I ran it for 12 hours overnight, as was already answered by Silverion77 in your other thread the first time you asked it.
