Is it worth revamping this PC?

Hey guys,
I got a question. I have my main 'rig' (prebuilt from feb. 2014 because my parents wouldn't let me build me own pc at the age of 11) with an AMD A10-6700 APU, 300/350W FSP PSU, 8GB 1866Mhz RAM (upgraded myself) and within a few days a GTX750Ti (ordered it yesterday). So a few days ago my dad walks in with a PC he got from work which they weren't gonna be using anymore. It's a custom build PC with an Intel Core i3 4130, 4GB RAM, ASRock B85M-HDS motherboard, GT220, and a shitty idk branded 450W PSU. It's now collecting dust and I was wondering if maybe I could turn it into my new main rig. It has a few issues though. 1: The CPU Fan is making a grinding noise at startup so it has to be replaced. 2: Sometimes, I'd say 1/10 times it freezes on the BIOS Splash screen but when I hit the reset button on the case it works fine. Would it make a better gaming PC if I were to put my own PSU, RAM, and graphics card in it than my main PC now? I like to play Rocket League, CS:GO, Black Ops II, NFSHP3, BF3, some older games and emulators.

I'd say go for it, that i3 should toss around the A10 all over the place, Fix that fan and change out PSU's or just use the parts from your A10 system, the ram, the PSU, and the GTX 750ti.

If your not happy with the system, you can always return the cooler and revert back to the A10 system. But core for core the i3 will in most cases beat the A10 even at a lower clock speed.

Here are a few things to check though with that i3 system, make sure none of the caps are leaking or have been busted, on some cheaper motherboards, the caps will eventually go or start leaking, replace the thermal paste on the CPU, depending how much the system was used, the thermal paste is probably due for a refresh
