I currently have a Radeon HD 6870 looking to switch it to a Radeon MSI R9 270X is the switch worth it? Will it make a big difference? I want a smoother gameplay. It costs only $209 now, This is my PC.... can it do well with it?

as i said you ''could'' overclock the cpu, to do that you don't need any programs all you have to do is to enter the BIOS of your motherboard (hit DEL on start up) and from there you tweak the settings. But if you have no idea on how to do this i suggest you either leave your CPU the way it is at stock clock speed, or you read search tutorials on how to overclock phenom II X6 CPU's...also you must know that overclocking the CPU will produce more heat and a better CPU cooler is needed if you're on the stock CPU cooler i once again suggest you don't overclock. Get your GPU first and then if you're not happy with the performance come back and seek for help on how to overclock your CPU...what you think?

For world of warcraft and pretty...

the r9 270x is a rebranded and slighlty overclocked HD7870,http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/780?vs=857
here are both GPU's head to head so you can see what performance difference you're looking at a good 60% performance increase...that being said if you could push the budget a little bit to get the new r9 280 (wich is the HD7950) or r9 280x (HD7970 rebranded) you would get a tahiti GPU that would offer much better performance and would be a much bigger upgrade for you...
Also now what you have to check is your power supply (PSU) to see what you have if it can handle such a GPU..

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah my power supply is 700w. I don't play such an intense game, the only game I'll be playing is World of Warcraft.

Is my whole PC fine for all for those cards too? I heard a term of bottleneck will it do that?

well, this CPU you have is a 6 core CPU it is not the fastest there is but will go along very well with an r9 270x and the GPU will still be your weakest link in most games i think...i dont see major bottleneck from the CPU here but you could always overclock it a little bit if possible cause 2.7ghz sounds kind of slow i would think those CPU's could reach 3.5 - 3.8 ghz easily...

For world of warcraft and pretty much every games really your CPU should give you great performance and will feed an r9 270x pretty well...
