Is it worth the extra money to overclock my i5-4690k?

I bought a 4690k on a non overclockable motherboard because it was cheaper at the time to get the 4690k thanks to a sale. My system started as a budget one which is why my motherboard is a little lackluster. My system specs are: i5 4690k stock speeds, hyper 212 Evo cooler, ASRock h97m anniversary, 8gb of RAM, and a r9 380 4gb. I do use a 650w PSU so I don't think power consumption is an issue. I would need a better Mobo probably costing me $100 or more as well as a good cooler just to OC it. I know I can OC on a hyper 212 but I'm sure it's not terribly high. I game at 1080p and I was reading that my CPU doesn't see a huge difference in performance. I was thinking of upgrading my motherboard mostly because of space. The PCI slots are too close and so my sound card is maybe 2cm away from my GPUs fans. I thought if I go z97 I could potentially get a M.2 SSD if I wanted and also have alot more PCI slots. I'm thinking that I could finally add a solid wifi card to my system in the event that I cannot use my Ethernet cable.

Sorry this is kinda long. Is the extra investment in a better Mobo and cooler worth it? Would I see substantial gains in performance or just 4-6 fps higher? I'm pretty happy with my system's gaming capabilities but I also want this system to last me for many years, just occasionally upgrading my GPU.
