Is it worth the trouble to upgrade this?

I recently bought a refurbished Dell Optiplex 390 (refurbished, link for reference/specs)

http://www.staples.ca/en/Dell-Refurbished-SFF-Optiplex-390-Intel-Core-i5-240031GHz-8GB-Ram-2TB/product_1894087_1-CA_1_20001).

I was looking to upgrade the GPU in it, and that left me with three questions:

1. Can this computer even support the upgrade?
2. What GPU should I get (If even possible)?
3. What upgrades could I possibly make without having to spend too much IF I do need to alter the PC to support a GPU.

If you need anymore information just ask.

Thank you for any help.

Heyo Jwalsky

Without knowing exactly what motherboard is inside of it, I'm pretty confident saying that, this PC wil be able to support a GPU.

When it comes to GPU's I'd probably suggest you to get something like a 1050 ti. This will give you planty of power to game, and should fit just about perfectly with your i5 2400.
If the 1050 ti is too expensive, something like a 950 or even 750 ti, is available also. Although these won't give you the edge like the 1050 ti.

Anyhow, when all that's said. What about buying a SSD for the build? Just something like a 128 or 256gb SSD. This will make your computing experince so much more snappy and amazing.

I don't think my PSU could support it (240W), now that I think of it. For the most part my PC is stock apart from the CPU so the model of the PC from that link should have the motherboard model. I'll go check.

The 750TI low profile GPU runs off of the power in the PCIe slot. The low power rating of the PSU is due to the low number of slots and bays in the computer. As long as the newer GPU (950/1050) doesn't require a 6 pin PCIe power cable it should work. Some SFF have a 35W power rating on the 16x slot. There isn't a limit listed for this computer, so you should be OK.
