Is it worth to buy a gpu to an old pc ?

I have an 8 yr old gaming pc laying around and I wondering if it is worth it to upgrade my graphics card. Actually, I don’t wont to utilize my on - board graphics that I was forced to use when my old GPU went KIA. My PC has an AMD Athlon x64 3.00 GHz, 2x Corsair XMS 2GB 1600 Mhz, Asus M4A78LT ME, TURBO-X 450 Watt. Actually, back then I had other components but 4 years ago when my GPU died I went to the place I bought most of the part to replace the GPU (I had warranty) and they swapped everything -.- and when I asked why they told "they are faulty" ... I had a full modular PSU a great motherboard but ... anyway what should I do now ? I ‘ve got 150 Euros on my disposal right now and next year I am planning to build a pc around 1200 - 1500 Euros is it worth to buy a gpu on that pc ?

i wouldnt recommend upgrading a machine with an athlon processor. you should probably just save that money for the real build. the cpu will probably hold back any upgraded card you put in.
