Hi. I struggle to keeping my pc for pure gaming and i will explain as short as possible.

I bought a custom build gaming pc with i5 13500, 32gb ram and rx 6950xt for soon a year ago. Pushing games to my goal as 60fps and 4K in most games still. I wanted to step up from my console and got what i wanted, but after a year now i see it collecting much dust. It is months between launches like re4, hogwarts, alan wake 2 etc. Most typical pc games like valorant or strategy games is not of interest.

Have played most old titles and i am here waiting for next game launch after finishing alan wake 2. So then it get a bit limited for what is coming and consider a game take 2-4 weeks to finish when one play a couple hours a day.

I consider to sell it and go back to ps5, but it bother me to play games similar to upscaled 1080-1440p with medium settings on pc, now i notice the difference easier after getting used to the pc, and all the different settings.
Dont know what to do, ps5 is easier to use, and it wont drop much in marked value the next 2-3 year as the pc.

Anyone here that also struggle to justify the expensive pc just standing there waiting for next game to launch?
Next up is avatar, last game was alan wake 2. On summer time it use to be even longer time between the launches, like between 1-4 months of wait between the goodies depend on time of the year.

IMO, if ALL you are doing is gaming and not utilizing the universe of other things you could do with a PC, then a console is probably your best bet.

I take a part of what you said to the poster in another thread about not regretting the purchase and just enjoy it for what it is. Consider all of the other things you could be doing with a PC that consoles don't do. If those things don't apply weight to the decision, then you have your answer.

Keep in mind that used PC equipment typically are worth about 1/2 what you paid. In addition to this you would either have to find one buyer that wants your exact system, or be dealing with part outs, shipping, scammers and all that mess and probably will still be left with items that either won't sell for what they are worth or people simply don't want them. For instance, the PC case itself may or may not be desirable and could readily post (shipping) for more than it is worth.

Yes i was asking the other poster if he needed some advice of good games since he wanted to give up already after 3 months.

Have to agree with you. The pc is connected to the gaming tv for pure gameplay. I have no interest or knowledge of photo edit or all the other thing a powerfull pc can do.
Only downside with console is the performence and the blury pics compared to the pc.

About selling used it is a big hassle.
But i will get little more back then half of what i paid, looking on what other selling and consider half the price it costed me we land on rtx 3060 with i5-i7 11000 series. So i will get more since i got good discounts on parts but still i probably loose the price of a new ps5 already. Thats acceptable. So i must make up my mind now, if i wait another year i dont see any reason to sell it because of the money loss and it would be better to just keep it and upgrade later.

Take a decision is so difficult, one must take a choice and consider if it’s worth to not have the library a PlayStation offer for me, that also is a reason for me to consider to go over to console, or have all the benefit a pc offer as cheaper games, gamepass, ubisoft plus, custom settings and always have 60+ fps with better visuals.

Sort of following along with @punkncat (Post #2).

My vote would be to keep the gaming PC and do not give up the investment by losing monies.

That system can do many other things besides play games. And likely do those other things very well.

Use the computer for your day-to-day activities: emails, streaming, browsing etc..

Should a a very good "main" computer.

And some new game may come along that catches your interest in playing again.

Better than starting over a year from now when you may regret giving up the build.

Keep your options open. Wait a few months and keep using the gaming PC even if not playing games on it.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
