Is it worth to SLI MSI GeForce GTX 760 OC and if make sense?

hello guyz
I'd like to upgrade my pc. I have MSI GeForce GTX 760 OC and I'm thinking about buy another (maybe even used) and SLI them. Is it make sense? Is it worth? BTW can I use other 760, not from msi?

CPU: Intel i5-4670K overclocked to 4,4 ghz

CPU COOLER: SilentiumPC Fortis 3 HE1425

GFX: MSI GeForce GTX 760 OC

MOBO: ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance

RAM: HyperX FURY 2*4GB

HDD: Seagate Desktop SSHD 1 TB

CASE: Zalman z11

POWER SUPLY: Corsair CS550M modular 80 PLUS Gold

SOFT: Windows 10 x64

As far as being worth it I can't really say. I guess the better question is how much are you going/willing to spend? Everything I read people always say it's better to get one good GPU than have two lesser (than the better one). That being said SLI isn't that bad if you're willing to deal with a little microstutter. Also, you can buy another GTX 760 from any brand. Just be aware that if you buy a stock overclocked model that it will run at the same clock speeds as the slowest card.

Cost is the most important factor, I wouldn't pay more than $100 for a 2nd 760, as a new psu will also be needed.

okay, i want to upgrade my pc with low funds, but i want to choose good solution (at least not bad). So with ~ gtx 760 budget should start to looking for simillar 760? btw thanks for quick answer

I have never seen microstutter from my SLI 970 build. I will say that if the cost is the same and performance is equal it makes sense to buy one stronger card when you are first building your PC.

When you already have one card and are looking for a performance boost SLI is can be a great way to get it done. In my case I had a single 970 and played at 1080p. The 980Ti wasn't available yet when I bought my first card. When I upgraded to a 1440p monitor I wanted more GPU power.

The 980Ti was available by the time I switched monitors but it would have cost me $650 to get one. I looked up SLI 970 benchmarks and saw that it was equal to a single 980Ti. It made much more sense for me to spend $320 on a second 970 than $650 to upgrade to a 980Ti.

Like I said, I wouldn't start with the idea of going SLI unless you are playing at 4K and looking at SLI 980Ti. It wouldn't have made sense for me to start with SLI 970s if the 980Ti had been available because 2 970s costs about the same as a single 980Ti. If you already have one card it can make sense to grab another one depending on the card and what the rest of your components are.

I agree with you completely. The only game where I'll sometimes get bad microstutter is BF4 other than that though not too bad.
