is it worth to upgrade from i5 7400 to i7 7700k in 2018 for gaming?

i recently noticed that my i5 7400 is holding back my 1060 6 gb in all CPU intensive games.
i dont have the budget to upgrade to the new coffee lake so i just need your opinion weather to upgrade or save more and get the new i7 8700k or maybe i5 8600k

Well for less then the price of a 7700K you could go 8400/B360 MB and reuse your current RAM.
