[SOLVED] Is it worth to upgrade i7 2600 to ryzen 2700?

Currently I have i7 2600 and gtx 1080 , I am thinking to buy ryzen 2700 or 2700x . Is it a good buy?

Can you guys recommend PC components ?

Depends on workload. For game streaming and video editing such upgrade will be beneficial.
For purely gaming workload - not so much.

What is your workload? The Ryzen 2700X is a good buy but if you are mostly gaming I would get one the upcoming Zen 2 7nm CPU's that are due next year. The performance improvement will be even more worthwhile with that.

I mainly use my computer for gaming and Watch movies. Recently I observed that new game repacks take too much time to install, that’s why I thought it is the time to change components.

CPU upgrade will not impact install times too much.
If your game library is located on HDD, then upgrade to SSD. This will speed up game installs and also improve game loading times.

A new CPU won't help load and install times. I suggest getting a 1TB SATA SSD for games if you already have the OS on an SSD.

Depends on the settings. At 1080p a bit sure, at 4K almost no difference. You would do just fine untill you upgrade your CPU.
