[SOLVED] Is it worth trying a Battery Reset on an Li-ion battery?

To you experts you I pose this question. My understanding is that trying these "battery resets" (sort of depleting the battery then topping it up) is useless for current Li-ion batteries for laptops, smartphones, etc.

I'd welcome any opinions on this.

So it's good to calibrate from time to time to get more accurate readings, not to extend the battery lifespan. I guess calibrating too often would shorten the lifespan.
I meant Li-Ion sorry, corrected.
