Is it worth upgrading an i3 3240 to an i3 4160 if the i3 4160 only costs £40?

I have a modest gaming PC with an i3 3240 and a GTX 750Ti 2GB which runs the games i like with 30+ fps depending on settings.

I noticed in my local cex they are selling an i3 4160 for £40. Do you think that is a good upgrade compared to the price. Iv'e done some benchmark comparison sites and its mixed reviews really. Some say its not worth the upgrade, others say it will give a decent boost. Bearing in mind they are talking about brand new prices. For £40 what do you think, go for the upgrade or save a bit and get an i5 xxxx?

Thank you

So i noticed they have an Core i5-3470 in stock as well, for the same price as the i3 i mentioned. £40. I'd love to plop an i7 in there but they have none in store, and well for £40 im just wondering if the increase in performance is worth £40. Userbenchmark.com claims it's roughly 40% more powerful than my i3 3240. Go for it or try and find that i7 3770 somewhere, ebay i guess. Appreciate any help, thanks :)
