[SOLVED] Is it worth upgrading from a 1080 TI?

As the title says, i'm thinking about upgrading from a 1080 TI to something else, maybe a 2070 or a 2080TI, but I am not sure whether the upgrade is worth the cost or if it's really that much of an upgrade at all. Am I better off waiting for the next generation instead? at the moment i'm only using one 1080p monitor.

Not worth it no. Besides, 1080Ti is faster than the the 2070 in most games. All cards mentioned are a bit much for 1080p if refresh rate is 60Hz. The cpu needs to deliver frames to the gpu too so cpu also play an important role on higher refresh rates.

Maybe upgrade monitor instead?

i see no circumstance in which changing from a 1080 ti to a 2070 would make sense (even thou you would most likely not notice a difference in 1080p)

if you have a 1080 ti dont even look at anything under a 2080 ti or maybe a 2080 super

if you are so rich as money doesnt even matter (than i think you would have already bought a 2080 ti btw) even than i would suggest waiting for the 2080 ti super now since its not that far off

i also have a 1080 ti btw i think the most logical thing is to wait and see how the 2080 ti super will perform and if it gives the performance you like buy that if not wait for ampere

The only real upgrade from the 1080Ti is the RTX 2080Ti...The 2080Ti is a huge step up from anything out at the moment but also cost more than anything else and by quiet a bit...

That would be the only upgrade path and if you have the money and have to drive 4k or super high FPS then that would be the only option....

NO ........ the only card better is the 2080 ti, not even the 2080 super gets any better or noticeable difference. i have a 1080 ti and it can run all maxed out on 1080 p

If you are playing on 1080p then no.

If you've got the 1080ti, the main advantage the 2080ti probably gets you is ray tracing which is still in it's infancy. Hold out maybe a year and see what the landscape looks like.
