Question Is it worth upgrading from a i3 4gen(4130) to a i7 4790(non -k) or a xeon e3 1270v3? My gpu is a RTX 3070. Thank you

Budget is around USD $75, I dont have a job yet(not 18), i usually get around $30-50 very year. The i7 4790 is around $60. Xeon e3 1270v3

Why upgrading? I want to get a stable fps in Genshin impact, it is very stuttery. Dips to 35fps. Valorant also have not so stable fps.

i3 4130
16gb ram 1600mhz
3070
1tb ssd
650watt PSU (thermaltake gf 2 80+gold)

Stutters in Genshin? That's weird, what Graphics quality are you using? Even in my backup pc with only a 2600K and a 1050ti, I have no stutters at everything maxed in graphics settings.

also what server are you playing at? Asian countries can sometimes get a bit of lag if they play in Europe or US servers.

your 4130 is slower than a 2600K, and only 2 cores. Many games work better with at least 4 cores.

well, I now suggest upgrading your cpu if you can afford the 4790.

Mostly i3's came in HP, Lenovo, Dell prebuilts. If that's the case, you may not be able to upgrade to an i7, won't be recognised by the bios.

Then upgrade. Fps is from the cpu, Not gpu. That i3 can't put enough fps to the gpu. Also check your detail settings, drop anything cpu related to low/disabled. That'll be stuff like bloom, floating data, some lighting affects etc.

Which ever is cheaper. They are intrinsically the same cpu, but they use some different instruction sets.
However, games etc dont use a bunch of what the Xeon has access to, so is wasted. There's many programs that have some small use for the instructions the k7 has. If you do a bunch of number crunching, and or other high level floating point calculation work, then the Xeon would serve better.
