My friend has been having issues with alot of things in his pc, which im fairly sure seems to come down to his cpu, he plans on upgrading to a whole new intel one in the near future, but while he saves up thinks it might be worth spending $100 on an 8300 to at least get things working.
His gpu is an overclocked 7850, and 8gb of ram, he cant run fortnite at all (which is the main game he wants to play) gets 80fps in league on minimum settings, and about 60 in rocket league.
He also plans on using this current pc as his streaming pc after he upgrades, so the new cpu might be worth it there too?
Edit:
Since the general consensus seems to be this isn't a very good idea, is there any compatible cpus that might be worth it, or does he just have to deal with it until he can afford the good pc (its more of a time and less of a money issue.)
Also this may not have been explained well enough initially, but the main issue is trying to record/stream while gaming, which is where i assume upgrading from 4 to 8 cores should actually help?
