is it worth upgrading from my i7 950 to a w3680 for gaming

Hey i wanna better cpu but i dont have money for a new mother board and i wonder if its worth upgrading to a w3680 from my i7 950 for gaming. games like csgo pubg fortnite etc.

my specs:
gtx 1060 6gb
14 gb ddr4 ram
i7 950

What's your exact motherboard? That's kind of the key bit of information here. The socket may be the same, but it's not the case that all motherboards that supported Nehalem CPUs would also support Gulftown. *If* your motherboard supports it, it will be a decent upgrade and I think worth the $50-$60 that the used W3680s have been going for.
 
The 6 core will help you out but putting a OC on it will help out even more. I know my 950 would run at 4.6Ghz all day long on a water loop and for short half day runs would do 4.9Ghz.

I still use that computer at work but have upgraded it to a 980x running at 4.5Ghz and still keeps up with our newer i5 gen6 computers.
