Hi everyone,
I want upgrade my i5-4460 to i7-4790 is it worth? Or better change to i3 8100 and change the whole mainboard and RAM in my current system?

I mainly use for gaming purpose.

My current System:
- Mobo: Asrock H81M DGS R2.0
- CPU: i5-4460
- GPU: IGame GTX 1060 6gb Vulcan
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1600MHz DDR3

Ah i see. But there's no intention of me to overclock my CPU in the future so im looking the non K version of CPU.

And do you think upgrading to i7-4790 will bring more fps for gaming? Or just very slightly increase fps?

Ah ok. If i get 4790k what's the best budget motherboard should i get? Cause im pretty tight on my budget

get a i7 4th gen which would go with your existing motherboard. that too will only give you 4 extra threads and little bit of extra speed..see if that worth the money.
i dont see any point of getting a K chip as that will require you to change your motherboard too and if you going to get a whole new system soon, why spend whole lot now?
and later you can get a a full new system. possibly in Q1 2020 by that time intel 10th gen and amd 3rd gen ryzen will be out with motherboard, drivers etc etc and tested

Why would a K chip necessitate a motherboard change?

While no, you couldn't OC - there is the added, decent clock speed gain going for the K. Assuming prices are similar, of course - I wouldn't spend much more for a 4770K/4790K on an H81 board.
