I am planning to upgrade my fx-6100 from years ago to a fx-8350. I was wondering if it is worth upgrading the motherboard as well?

Will I see a performance difference for getting a newer motherboard that has the latest CPU code in it's bios that my motherboard doesn't?

Current specs:
AMD fx-6100 @ 3.6GHz turbo: 3.9GHz
8GB DDR3 @ 1333Mhz
GTX 660 EVGA SC
GA-78LMT-S2P

I don't know about Rev 1.0, but if your board is like one of these later revisions, yes. It would almost be mandatory to change MBs for the FX-8350. Especially if you plan to OC the processor.

That board has poor power regulation, phases, and no heat sinks over the VRMs. It is not designed for much OC'ing. And according to the CPU support list for the ones I linked to, does not support the FX-8350.
