Is it worth upgrading my mobo just for 6th gen cpus?

Is it worth me upgrading my motherboard just for a 6th gen cpu
because i want to upgrade my gpu and that means id need a cpu upgrade to eliminate bottlenecks and im wondering what to do ?? help?
my current pc:
amd r7 260x
i3 4160
8gb ddr3 1600Mhz
500 gb hdd
gigabyte h81m-s2h <--(motherboard)

i want to upgrade to Evga Gtx 1060sc 6gb (gpu)
what cpu should i get (my motherboard is lga 1150)

No definetly not, just grab a good i5 (i5 4590?)or even i7 (i7 4770) if you upgrade to a better gpu. The 4th gen intel cpu's are still very capable and upgrading to a 6th gen is just a waste of money.

I have an i7 4790 with gtx 1070 and they wrok together like a dream

Personally I would say get an i5 4590 or i5 4690, which are very good cpu's and will work very good with a gtx 1060

Not at all, if you're going to upgrade get an i5 4460 or an i7 4790. There is only a 10% increase going to Skylake from Haswell.

You could probably get away with the setup you have now with a 1060, as the Skylake platform isn't that much better than Haswell. You could upgrade your CPU - maybe i5 - and keep the same board easily. More RAM would be more advantageous than a chipset upgrade too.

With an i3 6100 its pushing it, but with a 4160 you're likely to see some noticeable bottlenecking.
Think of it in 2014 terms as pairing an i3 with the 980.
I'd recommend an i5 upgrade first.

Am not sure I follow, as that's what I said I think lol.. A 3.6Ghz HT CPU isn't going to hugely bottleneck a 1060, but it will probably be limited I agree. That's why I said upgrade to i5, followed by RAM increase then least importan was an upgrade to Skylake. Maybe I'm just confused

Some games are cpu limited, and some are graphics limited.

I suggest you go ahead and buy your GTX1060 upgrade and see how you do.
I suspect your I3-4360 will do quite well.

Here is how to get a good idea ahead of time:

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.
