Hello guys,
I am thinking about throwing in a few bucks into my old rig just to max it out to it's full potential. But, only as a side project. It's an HP Pavilion P6210f,
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01852858
With an AMD Athlon II X2 250 processor, and I read somewhere that the highest cpu the motherboard will take is an AMD Phenom II X4 945,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-945-3-0GHz-6MB-Quad-Core-AM3-95W-C3-HDX945WFK4DGM-Processor-CPU-/162036985657?hash=item25ba282f39:g:CHQAAOSwKfVXDfmo
($50 on Ebay) and it will NOT take a six core as I've already tried this.
Here's the PSU I've chosen:

and video card upgrade, it currently has a Geforce GT 610
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-02G-P4-6152-KR/dp/B01M64G435/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1485036822&sr=1-3&keywords=750+ti
I already have the RAM and hard drive, so is this worth it?

See if this fits in your case. Measure the dimensions of the card and the case to find out.

What would be a good budget video card just for light gaming and watching 1080p videos? I want to use this PC as a spare, it's still perfectly good, so why throw it out?

How light are we talking here? Either way, a great starting point to upgrade is your current GPU to a 1050 Ti or an RX460. Please check to be sure your PSU meets the reccomended mark to properly use these cards. Good luck!

Does the 1050 ti come in a mini version? My graphics card slot has a very limited space, as you can see here,

http://support.hp.com/doc-images/218/c01635737.jpg

so, installing a larger card would overlap other components. That narrows down my choices, sadly.

That's perfect! Now, as far as processors. I'm limited to 95watt quad cores; and the highest my computer can take is either an AND Phenom II x4 955 @ 3.2ghz or AMD Athlon Ii x4 645 @3.1ghz. Which one is better?
