[SOLVED] Is it worth upgrading to a i5-10660f or 9600k over an i7-7700k?

I got the i7 in a prebuilt without OEM parts and it came with 2666mHz RAM was going to go for Ryzen 3600 but realised intel just came out with 10th gen. I can't overclock the 7700k either becasue it came with a H270 Board. I was going to upgrade to 3200Mhz when I bought a new CPU

Worth is subjective.

What other components do you have, what performance do you want and what budget?

Probably more cost effective to see what comes out next year, or get one of the Ampere or big Navi GPUs when they come out later this year as an iterative upgrade planning for mb/cpu/ram down the line.

5700xt and a PC Mate h270 and a Acer X34P

If i buy a new cpu i have an old case so i could pretty much just sell my prebuilt with no power supply or hdd or ssd

That's not too bad. Probably a better play to see Zen 3 or the 11th gen Intel series tbh.
